id=\"history-of-sigtuna\">History of Sigtuna <\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The town Sigtuna is the first town in Sweden. King Erik the Victorious established the town in 970. The town was the political center, but also the religious center, for centuries. The main street of the town, Stora Gatan is still the same as 1000 years ago. Also, the first coin of Sweden is made in 995 in Sigtuna. The king brought silver and a coin master from England to Sigtuna to mint coins. They found evidence of tradings with Byzantine, Russia, Poland, Ukraine and the Middle East. Therefore, Sigtuna is and was a worldwide meeting point.
