id=\"history-of-sigtuna\">Geschiedenis van Sigtuna <\/h2>\n\n\n<p>De stad Sigtuna is de eerste stad in Zweden. Koning Erik de Victorious stichtte de stad in 970. De stad was eeuwenlang het politieke centrum, maar ook het religieuze centrum. De hoofdstraat van de stad, Stora Gatan, is nog steeds hetzelfde als 1000 jaar geleden. Ook is de eerste munt van Zweden gemaakt in 995 in Sigtuna. De koning bracht zilver en een muntmeester uit Engeland naar Sigtuna om munten te slaan. Ze vonden bewijs van handel met Byzantijns, Rusland, Polen, Oekra\u00efne en het Midden-Oosten. Daarom is en was Sigtuna een wereldwijd ontmoetingspunt.
