This vegan chicken nuggets recipe is easy to make and so delicious. It is perfect for a movie or game night snack. Creating these vegan chicken nuggets from scratch is not difficult. However the cooking time for seitan is quite long. My easy Seitan recipe is the base for the vegan nuggets, which you need to prepare first.


How can I change up these Vegan nuggets?

Want to make a variation on the vegan chicken nuggets? Then these are great things to change:

  • Parmesan cheese; Firstly, add a cheesy vibe by using 1/4 cup of this vegan parmesan cheese and 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs as the coating.
  • Spicy; Want it spicy? Then, make the chicken nuggets spicy by adding chili flakes to the breadcrumbs and frying them in chili oil.
  • Garlic lover; Do you love garlic? Then I recommend to add 1 tablespoon of garlic powder/flakes to the breadcrumbs and serve vegan garlic mayonnaise with the nuggets.
  • Smoked Paprika; Lastly, adding smoked paprika to the breadcrumbs will give these vegan chicken nuggets a smoky taste.

How to make

  1. Prepare Seitan

    First create the Easy Vegan Seitan recipe to use for the 'chicken' nuggets. Make sure you tear the Seitan in small pieces before you boil them. Let them cool down before using them further.

  2. Coating

    Drain and press out left-over water from the seitan pieces. In one bowl add the milk and in another the breadcrumbs. Dip each piece in the milk and transfer it to the breadcrumbs. Roll it around and make sure it is fully covered.

  3. Frying

    Heat up the oil in a frying pan. Add the coated seitan nuggets to the pan and fry untill golden brown. This takes 5 minutes each side. Don't turn them to fast, then the breadcrumbs will stick to the pan and fall from the nuggets.

  4. Serve them and enjoy

    The nuggets are ready to eat. Serve them with your favorite sauce. Enjoy!
