* UPDATE* Sadly, they recently turned off the electricity outlets. It could be because of the high prices at the moment, but do not expect the electricity to work currently.

Supermarket and nearby adventures in Andalusia

Algodonales is a beautiful small town in the nature area Sierra de Lijar, which is in the famous Sierra de Grazalema. The views of the surrounding mountains in the city are breathtaking. The streets of the city are small, but accessible by a normal car. Because I do not advise to go into the center with a camper, read the camper information for where to park. The city center has multiple small grocery shops, but also a bigger Dia Supermercados. You can find everything you need in this supermarket, just remember that it is closed on Sundays and during Siesta, 2pm-5:30pm.

Nearby Algodonales is de Zahara de la Sierra, which has a beautiful Embalse. This place is only a 15 minutes drive from Algodonales. Also, only 35 minutes from Algodonales is Ronda, another city in Andalusia, Spain worth visiting with your camper. For more information about Ronda check out this blogpost.

Take a little tour through the lovely town Algodonales in Cádiz

The city Algodonales is a beautiful stop along the way. Mainly due to the white houses with the fruit trees on the streets that create a lovely atmosphere. Did you know that some fruit trees contain both oranges and lemons? (picture below) This is possible by grafting the lemon on the orange tree or vice versa. We have seen different varieties with mandarins, oranges and lemons. It is beautiful to see how the two are merged together. Besides this, the city has some other highlights:

  1. Plaza Alameda, area between the two main roads. Around this area restaurants and cafes can be found.
  2. Church of Santa Ana, this beautiful church is located on the Plaza de la Constitucion.
  3. Town hall of Algodonales, situated next to the church of Santa Ana.

All-in free camper place in the town Algodonales

Algodonales is a perfect place in Spain to visit with your camper. Autovia A-384 will lead you easily to this little town. I advise not to drive into the city itself, but instead stay at this camper place next to it. This is a big camper place, and it has all facilities for FREE. This means that there is fresh water, a dumping station for water and your toilet, and free electricity. The last one could be difficult to get your hands on.

This is because some outlets are defective and others are occupied. Keep an eye out if someone leaves, and you can find an electricity outlet for you within 24h of arrival. It is a big place, so it is accessible for all sizes of vehicles. Make sure to leave this place clean and tidy like always and pass on the electricity when you are all charged up. From the camper place, it is only a 15-minute walk to the city center and supermarket.
